SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane Chiefs announced on Tuesday that they have traded forward Tanner Wishnowski to the Prince George Cougars in exchange for a conditional eighth round pick in the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft.

“With recent roster moves we’ve made, we were heavy up front and needed to clear some space, especially as our forward group gets healthier,” said Chiefs’ General Manager Scott Carter. “We’d like to thank Tanner for his service with our organization and wish him the best in Prince George.”

Wishnowski, a 19-year-old winger from Oakbank, Manitoba, was originally acquired by the Chiefs in a trade with Kelowna earlier this season. He appeared in 13 games for the Chiefs, scoring twice and adding six assists. He had previously played 10 games for Kelowna, picking up two points. In 78 career games, he has recorded 11 goals and 13 assists for 24 points, adding three assists in 18 playoff games.

Wishnowski has been out of the lineup since November 19 with an upper-body injury.

The Chiefs hit the road this week for four games in five nights, beginning with a Wednesday night contest at 7:05 p.m. in Everett. Mike Boyle will have the radio call on 1510 KGA NW Sports Talk (and online at 1510kga.com), starting with the pre-game show at 6:30 p.m.
