Coleman, AB – The Calgary Hitmen improved their pre-season record to 3-1-1-0 with a 6-2 win over the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Friday night at the Crowsnest Pass WHL Thunder Challenge in Coleman.

Rookies Lucas Cullen and Tristen Nielsen both netted a pair of goals to lead the Hitmen while Vladislav Yeryomenko and Justyn Gurney added singles.

Nielsen also picked up an assist for a team-leading three points.

Colton Kroeker and Zane Franklin provided the Lethbridge scoring in a contest that saw the Hitmen boast a 30-18 advantage on the shot clock.

Cody Porter went the distance in the Calgary net making 16 saves while Brandon Kegler recorded 24 saves for Lethbridge.

The Hitmen wrap up their six-game exhibition swing tomorrow night against the Kootenay ICE in the finale of the Crowsnest Pass WHL Thunder Challenge.  The Saturday, Sept. 17 contest is a 7:00 p.m. start at the Crowsnest Sports Complex in Coleman, Alberta.

The 72-game regular season schedule then begins with the Adrenalin Source For Sports Home Opener on Friday, September 23 at 7:00 p.m., when Kootenay visits the Scotiabank Saddledome.

Calgary Hitmen season tickets for the 2016-17 campaign are now available at the Scotiabank Saddledome box office or by calling 403-777-4646. Packages include complimentary tickets to the first two Hitmen home playoff games along with game day savings vouchers for concessions, tickets and merchandise.  They also feature a flexible exchange program where all unused Hitmen regular season tickets can be exchanged for another game during the same season.
